Now this is one movie that keeps you on the edge, with not a single dull moment it captivates the audience and takes them on a roller coaster ride. Yes, we are talking about the latest movie of Aayushmaann Khurrana and Tabu- ‘Andhadhun. Truth is stranger than the fiction and filmmaker Sriram Raghavan has made this movie a testimony to this adage.

The movie is inspired by a French short film ‘L’Accordeur’ or ‘The Piano Tuner’ (2010) by Olivier Treiner. Akaash (Khurrana) is a blind pianist(Or is He?) who falls in love with Sofie (Radhika Apte). The movie has a feel good, slightly comic and musical beginning to it. Soon the protagonist witnesses (twist twist!) a murder that he shouldn’t have had, and then begins the plot of cat and mouse chase between the protagonist and antagonist (guess who?). Tabu, the antagonist, plays the dark character and is at her effortless best in the movie. Soon, Akaash finds himself entangled in quicksand of crime, deceit and fear; the harder he tries, the harder he fails. His efforts to get some help bring in more bends to the story as the characters reveal their cunning and devious facets. The acquaintances and the evil doctor who portrays himself as a helping hand expose their true nature, adding so much mystery and drama to the story. What will Akaash do? How will he save himself? Will he ever be able to see? Or will he even be able to survive? You find yourself dealing with all these questions, but this article is no spoiler alert, so we highly recommend watching this movie to get the answers.

Actor Aayushmaann Kuhurrana is at his best; he delivers the role with a convincing subtlety and bags the sympathy of audience. Tabu is highly convincing as a protagonist, displaying her dark side, eccentricity and crudeness with a hint of vulnerability. She portrays the character’s moodiness and unpredictability in a very effective manner. Radhika Apte’s role is relatively small but nevertheless she has a good screen presence and is very charming in her role, you cannot fail to notice her. Music is good and goes well with the story-line. Kudos to Sriram Raghavan for making this amazing thriller with unpredictable and gripping sequences. The ending is very interesting and is open to interpretations by the viewers.

Overall, we categorize this movie as a must see, especially if you are a fan of thrillers. This ‘killer’ suspense drama won’t disappoint you and will keep you on your toes throughout.
