Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Granted 40 Days of Parole

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted a 40-day parole and will soon arrive at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. This marks his 15th temporary release from prison. He has been released from Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail and will remain in Sirsa, Haryana, for the duration of his parole.

Parole History and Administrative Decision

Gurmeet Ram Rahim has previously been granted parole and furlough on several occasions. His most recent 40-day parole was approved on September 15. With this latest decision, his 15th temporary release will take place during the current 40-day parole period. Authorities have permitted him to stay at the Dera premises in Sirsa, as was the case during his previous paroles of 21 and 40 days. The administration has clarified that he will continue to reside at the Dera throughout this parole period.
Supporters state that such paroles have often coincided with Dera-organized spiritual and social welfare initiatives. These activities focus on de-addiction, spiritual gatherings, and humanitarian services aimed at social reform.

January Holds Special Significance for Followers

The timing of this parole has drawn attention as January is considered a highly sacred month by followers of Dera Sacha Sauda. January 25 marks the Incarnation Day of Revered Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj, the second spiritual master of the Dera and the mentor of Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Reports indicate that commemorative activities began on January 1. In the past as well, Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been granted parole during significant religious occasions, including festivals and birthdays.

Preparations Underway for Incarnation Day Celebrations

Enthusiasm is evident among Dera followers as preparations are underway for the 107th Incarnation Bhandara scheduled for January 25th. They observe the occasion by dedicating the entire month to humanitarian service. Activities include distributing warm clothing, providing nutritious meals, and arranging free shelter for the underprivileged. Followers attribute these initiatives to the guidance and teachings of Baba Ram Rahim.

Mixed Public Reactions

The announcement of Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s parole has elicited varied reactions. His supporters regard him as a spiritual leader and humanitarian, welcoming the decision and highlighting the welfare work carried out under his guidance. At the same time, the repeated grants of parole have faced criticism, particularly from individuals and groups associated with ongoing legal matters. As a result, public opinion on the issue remains sharply divided.
