This marks the first time since August 2017 that the Dera chief will be at the Sirsa headquarters. On Tuesday morning, just one week before the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5, he was released on a 30-day parole from Rohtak’s Sunaria jail.

Previously, whenever granted parole or furlough, Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh had not been allowed to stay at or visit the Sirsa headquarters, instead residing at the Dera Bagpat Ashram in Uttar Pradesh.

According to a government official, the Dera chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji was not permitted to stay at his Dera headquarters until a report was received from the Sirsa district administration. The senior officer stated that permission was granted after the district administration confirmed they had no objections.

Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was last granted a 20-day parole in October of the previous year.

In order to ensure adherence to the rules, Baba Ram Rahim has to stay within his Ashram throughout his parole due to the upcoming election, as his large fan base there could potentially influence the process.

During the parole time, Baba Ram Rahim will also refrain from giving public remarks or engaging in any actions that might sway public opinion at events or gatherings.
