Weather Report: Cold waves hit Delhi, North India as temperature falls to 4 degrees, IMD alert for these States.

Temperature drops to zero in Rajasthan’s Churu. However, dense fog is most possible in isolated areas of Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh and would persist for the following three days . Dense fog lowered visibility metres in some areas affecting the road and rail traffic.

Heavy fog prevailed in some parts of the National Capital Region, Haryana, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan.

The national capital, as well as  most of cities in Punjab, Haryana, and west Uttar Pradesh, have all posted experiencing severe cold, according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on last Sunday.

Clear Sky Cold Wave and Dense Fog in the morning was reported as temperature falled to 4° Celsius. Infact it is expected that the temperature in Delhi can drop to 4 degrees Celsius in the next 48 hours.

IMD has tweeted, “Biting cold has reported in most areas in Punjab while it was observed a cold day at most  isolated parts .Severe cold day reported in Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. It was experienced a severe cold day at isolated locations over northwest Rajasthan, and west Uttar Pradesh.” On Sunday morning, Delhi’s minimum temperature was 5.3 degrees Celsius. But, it increased through the day to come a high of 16.2° Celsius. Delhi will still be experiencing a chilly wave on Monday, according to the IMD.

The IMD has forecasted heavy fog in the capital city and a chilly start to Monday. On the other side, Punjab has to face a five-day fog warning from the IMD. In some areas of Punjab, severe to very dense fog is expected to prevail throughout the next two days. Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Chandigarh are experiencing a cold wave starting on Sunday, while western and eastern Rajasthan may encounter a severe cold wave for the next few days.

Along with Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, and Tripura in the early morning hours of December 27; Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan in the evening and morning hours of December 27–28; and Himachal Pradesh will struggle chilling cold waves. It was predicted that  dense fog will be there in isolated pockets, which was very likely; the intensity of the fog was then predicted to decrease over the following days.However, dense fog is most possible in isolated parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh and would continue for coming three days. For Dec. 28, severe  to very severe fog is most probably expected in certain areas over Punjab.
