Dera Sacha Sauda chief Baba Ram Rahim has been granted 21 days of parole as of today, 25th ️ August, 2026
Baba Ram Rahim is presently incarcerated at Sunaria Jail in Rohtak, Haryana, and the authorities have instructed him to travel to Sirsa headquarters of Dera Sacha Sauda today for his parole stay.

17th parole since 2017..
Baba Rahim has been serving time since 2017 and has been granted 16 paroles and/or Furloughs so far. This is the 17th parole that the judiciary has sanctioned for 21 days beginning today i.e. 25th of August, 2026 in Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters of Sirsa itself.
Although previous stays were largely centered in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, they have now been relocated to Sirsa, Haryana.
Despite the vast number of followers and devotees, the stays have been observed in a calm and orderly manner so far.
Difference between Parole and Furlough…
Parole is granted for specific reasons or exigencies while Furlough is granted to help prisoners maintain family/social ties and break prison monotony.
Parole involves suspension of the sentence during the release period but Furlough counts as part of the sentence served (continues to run during release).
As per history, Baba Ram Rahim has been granted both parole and Furlough at different times.
Why so many paroles and public feuds….
The authorities clarified that although everyone has the right to file a petition for parole, it is granted very carefully– based on the reasons and their behavior during the stay.
Accordingly, it has been observed that Baba Ram Rahim has been granted parole based on his good nature and cooperative behaviour compliant to every rule applicable.
Although, being a huge public figure and divided sentiments amongst public, minor feuds can be seen, yet no major controversies pertaining to his stay have arisen so far, proving that executionary actions from both the end are very disciplined.

According to sources, Baba Ram Rahim stays in the Dera Sacha Sauda premises and is allowed to conduct satsangs peacefully and orderly.
It has been also seen that the paroles usually happen around events of Dera Sacha Sauda like foundation day or birthdays and thus, major welfare works are observed within the premises.
Some notable ones include mega tree plantation and mega cleanliness campaigns across states.
It is expected that the same ritual of welfare/ humanitarian works will be followed this time as well.
