When he went hunting there, during this time, he saw a wounded bear tied to the tree, suffering. Seeing the bear suffering, he ordered to kill that bear. So that he can get rid of the pain. This incident spread rapidly across the country. The cartoonist named Berryman had made a bear in the cartoon on this incident, people liked it very much. Then Morris Mitchtom, who ran the toy store, was impressed by that cartoon, and his wife made a toy in the form of a bear and asked President Roosevelt for permission to name it Teddy Bear. Because Roosevelt’s nickname was Teddy. Then Roosevelt gave him this permission, and since then the teddy bear came into existence.
