People people everywhere, not a person to talk to!

We are all living in an increasingly compact world where everyone is busy. Apparently, ‘quantity’ of friends per person has increased, but what about the ‘quality’? There are so many people in this world, 7.5 billion and more precisely, but how many do you really connect with?

According to current statistics, the current global population is 7.5 billion and counting. Indeed, it is a serious cause of concern for us all.

That’s the reason why the World Population Day was initiated and is significant to spread awareness regarding the alarming rate of population growth. The objective is to focus on the importance and need of controlling the count. The theme of World Population Day for the year 2018 is “Family planning is a Human Right”.

The main aim of this event is to aware people about the reproductive health care. A large number of women face the issue of poor reproductive health due to either negligence or lack of knowledge. It is shocking to know that 800 women die every day in the process of giving birth to babies. So, the primary aim of the day is to spread awareness about reproductive health, and also to make people understand the importance of family planning. The continuing increase in population is governed by many factors such as human rights, family planning, gender equality, right to health, child marriage, use of contraceptives, knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases, sex education, etc.

The World Population Day has some more objectives too.

  • Accessing the primary knowledge in both boys and girls.
  • Educating youngsters with friendly techniques to avoid unwanted pregnancy at a young age.
  • Educating people to remove the gender stereotype from the society.

For a long time, especially in India, children were considered as an asset and more hands meant more earning.

To control the population, the world’s most populated nation China came up with “One Child Policy”. India is also moving towards the same path. A socio-spiritual non-profit organization Dera Sacha Sauda is promoting “Content With One” campaign at mass level. The Dera Chief Baba Ram Rahim says that husband and wife are a single entity post marriage and one child is enough to complete the family. His initiative and mass awareness campaign are playing vital role in controlling the population explosion as millions of his disciples have taken a pledge to follow this.

The country and whole world require more such organizations that come ahead to spread awareness and make the world a little less crowded, and more connected.
