Devotees are still crazy about Baba Ram Rahim and the Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda.
As I observed in the last 20 months or so, the popularity or the love for Baba Ram Rahim has not been shaken rather I believe it is being strengthened irrespective of all the adverse situations.
On questioning few devotees and doing some ground level research over the months, my curios self came to know about a heck lot of positives about Baba Ram rahim and Dera. As this is never mentioned by any mainstream media be it print, electronic or even social media.
So hereby I am going to sum up all that I noticed. Dera Sacha Sauda was established way back in 1948, 29th April by the first Guru of the cult, Baba Shah Mastana Ji, second in line was Baba Shah Satnam ji and currently Present Guru Baba Rahim is holding the Master-ship since 1990. The Dera Sacha Sauda claims to have a massive devotees base of over 65 million devotees all across the globe and conducts 134 welfare tasks that were started under the guidance of present Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh (though he is behind bars since 20 months)
Witnessing the Devotion of Millions
This Sunday, i.e, 28th April I got a chance to visit Dera HQ at Sirsa and found a massive gathering of Devotees gathered to listen the Sermons of Baba. There were a number of huge LED Screens and let me tell you, I was surprised to see the discipline of the disciples in-spite of physical absence of Baba Ram Rahim.
Everything in Dera is functional and activities have been going on as normal as they could as per the guidance of Baba Ram Rahim. I noticed that the welfare tasks were getting done, announcements of blood donation, distribution of Books and other stationery items to the needy ones and Tri-cycles were given to the persons in need
The Unwavering Faith of Devotees in Baba Ram Rahim
Furthermore, upon asking the devotees why they were still coming to Dera in Baba’s absence, they said that believed that Baba Ram rahim is among them spiritually and none of their wishes were unfulfilled.(wow a sheer miracle). The more I interacted with the devotees be it male or female, young or old, they all had their own set of stories and miracles associated with Baba. One of them convinced me to stay one day more in Sirsa as 29th April is Foundation Day of Dera as well as Jaam-E-Insan Day. There was a huge in-pour of masses coming to celebrate and show their love for their Guru Baba Ram Rahim.
It does sounds crazy but at the same time if we check the ground level realities and interact with these devotees, only then can we understand what is Unshaken faith and what kind of love they have for Baba Ram Rahim.
