As you all know that Children’s Day is approaching, so here’s an article for our readers dedicated specially to this day.
‘Kids go where there is excitement; they stay where there is love.’
A child is just like a flower bud that needs to be nurtured cautiously. They love to be with a person who loves them unconditionally. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who was India’s first Prime Minister, was a kind of personality who had deep love and great affection for children, that’s why his birth anniversary was chosen to be celebrated as Children’s Day, also known as Bal Diwas.
It is celebrated on 14th November every year in all schools throughout India to pay tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru and to increase awareness among parents about the rights, care and education of children. Whatever they will learn today, will lay their foundation for future. Hence, it needs to be strong enough because they will play a vital role in nation’s development.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said, “The children of today will make the India of tomorrow. The way we bring them up will determine the future of the country.”
He was ambitious about development and education of children in the country, so he worked diligently and established few of the renowned educational institutions like Indian Institutes of Technology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Indian Institutes of Management. Besides this, he framed a five year plan which included free primary education, free meals in order to prevent children from malnutrition.
He has been called Chacha Nehru for his extreme love and warmth for children.
People commemorate his birthday with great zeal by doing different cultural and fun activities. All the schools and other educational institutions organize several competitions as well as events such as debates, storytelling, quizzes, music and dance performances in order to make them more cheerful and patriotic. Apart from this, chocolates and gifts are distributed amongst all children.
Parents also participate with great enthusiasm in this event, relive their own childhood memories and make their children happy.
Orphan children, too, receive numerous gifts like clothes, toys and books on this day.
In the end, we all need to join hands against the widespread crimes committed against the children. Rather we need to take care of them and make them responsible citizen of our nation because they are the country’s actual strength as they would make developed society in future.
There are some things, many can’t buy, one such thing is our ‘Childhood’, enjoy the spirit of Children’s Day.
Happy Children’s Day!
