Oscars 2023: Naatu Naatu, The Elephant Whisperer, and Deepika Padukone all shine

It’s finally Oscar 2023! By winning awards, SS Rajamouli’s RRR and The Elephant Whisperers brought honour to India. Finally, on March 13, the 95th Academy Awards were presented (IST).

The Elephant Whisperers, a short documentary by Kartiki Gonsalves and Guneet Monga, and SS Rajamouli’s RRR song Naatu Naatu, which won Best Original Music, were both significant victories for India.
The two films are receiving a flood of congratulations. With seven honours, Everything Everywhere All at Once was the winner of the night. Moreover, Deepika Padukone served as one of the Oscars 2023 presenters. Together with a select group of other celebrities, the actress shared this honour with Emily Blunt, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael B. Jordan, Janelle Monae, Zoe Saldana, Jenifer Connelly, Riz Ahmed, and a few others.Jimmy Kimmel, a late-night host and comedian, dazzled the audience this year by hosting the awards ceremony. Deepika Padukone entered the stage to announce the Naatu Naatu performance, which was directed by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. She described the song as a “banger,” and the performance that followed got the crowd standing. They received a standing ovation from the ceremony’s attendees. Everything That Breathes, directed by Shaunak Sen, failed to win an Oscar. The movie got a nomination for Best Documentary Feature Film. All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, Fire of Love, and A House Built of Splinters were the other movies nominated.Navalny was the achiever of the honour.

Chandrabose, the lyricist for Naatu Naatu, is thrilled, according to his wife Suchitra, who spoke “Chandrabose and (music director) Keeravaani ji winning the Oscar for India makes me extremely pleased. All I have to do is wait for my spouse to get home (to celebrate). I’ll give him a hearty floral welcome.

The PM Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated team RRR after ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards.

“Exceptional! The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. Song will be remembered for years to come. Greetings to @boselyricist @mmkeeravaani and team for the prestigious honour. India is elated and proud. #Oscars,” the Prime Minister said.

The PM also congratulated the team of The Elephant Whisperers after it got the Oscar for the Best Documentary Short Film.

Mr. Joshi stated: “I’m overjoyed, and the entire nation is enjoying themselves. The people who put a lot of effort into this deserve praise as well. Indians across the board should be proud of it. I would want to congratulate everyone on India winning two Oscars for the first time ever.”
